Job Description
Farm market Manager,
Replenova Farm is an organic mixed vegetable farm with a year round farm market (open Tues-Sat) featuring selected bake goods, sandwiches, soups, salads and some prepared foods. In addition, we work with over 50 local farms and food artisans to sell their products in our market. The Market is small but has two commercial kitchens, three ovens and other appliances all electric and powered 100% by solar panels mounted on our barn. All of the farm and local foods resold are local.
An ideal candidate will have experience doing retail food sales. Primary responsibilities are to interface with the farm manager to stock, display and manage the farm’s organic produce, to purchase, sell and manage farm and food artesian products currently sold while actively seeking new local vendors, and to work together with the baker and other farm personnel to help create and make soups, sandwiches and salads as needed. We are looking for someone to work 32-40 hrs. per week and some Saturdays. This is a great opportunity to contribute feeding the people of Durham and the surrounding areas who are most of our customers. We are all about contributing to feeding ourselves locally using local fresh and seasonal ingredients and to promote and contribute to our local food system. The ideal candidate possesses strong leadership and organizational skills, has a passion for sustainable agriculture and local produce, creating local foods and is adept at managing a successful diversified farm market.
Responsibilities:
1. Manage daily operations of the farm market, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and ensuring the market is well-stocked and visually appealing.
2. Supervise, train, and schedule market staff, ensuring they are knowledgeable about products, customer service-oriented, and following safety and hygiene standards.
3. Develop and maintain relationships with local farmers and suppliers to ensure a consistent supply of high-quality produce and products. Only local products.
4. Plan and implement effective marketing strategies to promote the farm market, including advertising, social media presence, and community outreach.
5. Monitor inventory levels, track sales, and analyze trends to optimize product selection and pricing.
6. Create visually appealing displays that highlight seasonal produce and attract customers, ensuring the market is clean and organized at all times.
7. Provide exceptional customer service, addressing customer inquiries, resolving complaints, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
8. Collaborate with farm management to be informed of harvest schedules, and coordinate the availability of produce for the market.
9. Maintain accurate records of sales, inventory, and financial transactions, preparing regular reports for farm management using Square.
10. Ensure compliance with local regulations, health codes, and food safety standards.
11. Continuously seek opportunities for improvement, such as implementing new technologies, exploring partnerships, or expanding product offerings.
12. Stay up-to-date with industry trends, farm market demands, and customer preferences to maintain a competitive edge.

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
