PATH is seeking candidates passionate about helping others make a positive change in their lives to join our Yale Navigation Team as the Community Affairs Specialist in Santa Ana.
ABOUT PATH
Since its foundation in 1984, PATH (People Assisting The Homeless) has pioneered bold and effective approaches to assist people experiencing homelessness. PATH operates services throughout California, connecting our clients to a comprehensive continuum of homelessness prevention, street outreach, employment preparation and placement assistance, individualized case management, supportive services, interim housing, and permanent supportive housing.
ABOUT OUR TEAM
PATH's Interim Housing programs provide low-barrier, high-tolerance settings for program participants, referred to as guests, who are experiencing homelessness and have a variety of complex health, functional and social needs. These home-like environments are coupled with support and case management services to assist guests with developing a plan to break the cycle of homelessness, stabilize in housing and reintegrate into the community.
ABOUT THE JOB
As part of the Yale Navigation Team, The Community Affairs Specialist is responsible for managing community engagement for PATH Orange County.
Position Responsibilities include:
Handle daily management of PATH Orange County's volunteer programs in support of serving the growing needs of our residents and participants.
Work with the development and programs to identify volunteer opportunities and manage the recruitment, retention, and assignment of the volunteer base for one-day, short-term, and long-term volunteer projects.
Conduct strategic community outreach to educate stakeholders, engage volunteers, and create strategic partnerships, such as, but not limited to, leading facility tours and participating in public speaking opportunities that reach volunteers
Manage the donor database as related to volunteer and community engagement.
Support the PATH's philanthropy team in creating and managing effective strategies and giving opportunities to increase fundraising in the Orange County region such as, but not limited to, special events, direct mail, online giving, and donor identification and cultivation.
Utilize feedback regarding volunteer opportunities to acknowledge strengths, successes, and identify opportunities to improve future volunteer activities and share insights with on-site staff

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in homeless services, case management, mental health services, and/or permanent supportive housing
Experience with and strong working knowledge of DonorPerfect or similar donor or volunteer management software
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
Two (2) years of experience in non-profit development, community outreach, and/or volunteer management.
Proficiency with computers and technologies used for work outputs including:
