Job Description
Title: End User Computer Technician/Trainer
Immediate Supervisor: Director of Technology
Minimum Qualifications:
1. High School diploma, two years military training or Technical College graduate preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft desktop operating systems.
- Experience with Windows NT and Server 2000 operating systems.
- Knowledge of applications including word processing, databases, spreadsheets, Internet and networked applications.
- Experience with basic network troubleshooting.
- Experience with hardware and software troubleshooting.
- Experience in hardware configuration and upgrades.
- Experience in software installation and configurations.
- Demonstrated ability to work with people as part of a team.
- Good technical reading, writing and oral communication skills.
Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of and ability to apply problem solving techniques.
- Demonstrated expertise in the technology services.
- Knowledge of current trends and best practices in technology.
- Knowledge of applicable laws, rules, policies and procedures.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to troubleshoot routine technology issues.
- Ability to use effectively technology for business management and supervision.
Essential Functions:
- Support computer installation, maintenance and repair at all schools and central office.
- Complete work orders on priority basis.
- Maintain maintenance and repair records.
- Install server and client based applications.
- Perform data security and backup procedures.
- Assist network administrators, technology integration facilitators and school technology coordinators as required.
- Support technology training activities as required.
- Assist with maintaining schools technology inventory and technology department spare parts inventory.
- Perform hardware and software upgrades; this includes downloading security patches and monitoring anti-virus software.
- Support the test and evaluation of new technologies as directed.
- Provide e-mail and phone support.
- Assist end users with repair and training to be self-sufficient.
- Other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
- Well-groomed and appropriately dressed
- Ability to physically navigate the school and classroom
- Proper use of acceptable grammar and diction
- Ability to project and modulate voice in a school environment with and/or without the use of electronic aides.
- Possess visual acuity.
- Possess physical capability to stand, bend, and lift up to 25 pounds.
- Possess physical and emotional ability and dexterity as needed to perform required work in a fast-paced, high intensive work environment.

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Classified Personnel.
