Job Description
JOB DESCRIPTION: FRONT DESK COORDINATOR
JOB SUMMARY
Handles front desk and medical records duties.
SUPERVISION: Reports to the Center Manager
RESPONSIBILITIES
Ø Prepare charts for appointments; print daily appointment list for provider, type and create new patient chart within 24 hours of office visit
Ø Check patients in for appointments; verify insurance and demographic information at each visit, collect co-payments and patient balances
Ø Check out patient after they've seen the physician; schedule return visit as needed
Ø Answer phones; take and relay messages; refer callers to other departments as needed
Ø Copy, scan and mail documents and forms as needed
Ø Performs related work as required.

Ø Ability to work with and without supervision and perform a variety of routine tasks
Ø Willingness to accept responsibility for established procedures
QUALIFICATIONS:
Ø High school diploma or GED required
Ø Knowledge of medical practice procedures and functions preferred
Ø Knowledge of medical terminology preferred, but not required
Ø Previous experience with telephone systems and office equipment including copiers, adding machines, fax machines and computers Excellent communication skills.
Ø Strong organizational skills
Ø Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ø Bilingual/Spanish a plus
Ø Proficient in Outlook and Microsoft Word and other EMR systems
Ø Flexibility (may require some early mornings and evenings)
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Requires prolonged sitting. Requires excellent communication skills and a keen understanding of patients with sensory impairment. Must be able to express a caring attitude while performing the tasks required with accuracy and efficiency. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to perform necessary testing and reporting of findings.
