Job Description
GarityAdvantage Agencies is a national field marketing organization specializing in the senior market. We offer independent insurance brokers a broad portfolio of senior products from top carriers combined with a diverse menu of innovative sales and marketing tools and exceptional services designed to support their selling efforts.
The Sales Manager is a key position in the organization, leading the charge for engaging existing agents and agencies to maximize sales while also driving new broker recruitment throughout the state. We currently have brokers selling in 43 states. Connecticut is one of our largest and most established markets.
The position requires travel to agents/agencies, relationship building with carrier representatives, event and activity building to generate opportunities and sales for the agents you support, and the ability to present training and sales meetings both virtually and on-site. The Sales Manager will need to have in-depth product/market knowledge, exceptional interpersonal skills and a ‘closer’ mentality to recruit insurance agents and lead them on the path to sales.
Responsibilities include:
· Meet or exceed assigned production goals.
· Develop and implement an effective territory action plan.
· Expand the number of carrier contracts for each broker for both Medicare and ancillary products lines
· Effectively utilize data to implement strategies that support market growth.
· Work closely with Lead Generation, Broker Support, Marketing and Onboarding/Contracting teams to drive new business.
· Coach/train brokers/agencies to sell more effectively by hosting one-on-one, webcast, and seminar-based training.
· Handle sales-related inquiries from existing brokers (e.g. products questions, carrier interactions, upline/downline needs, sales tools & carrier portals, marketing requests, co-op, leads, etc.) alongside our sales support team
· Develop key brokers/agencies to start and build downline recruitment strategies of their own
· Manage key accounts within the territory to ensure optimal commitment and performance
· Become product expert for the market(s) served and share knowledge with rest of the team
· Build/maintain strong relationships with all carrier reps in territory and develop effective action plans with each
· Consistently travel within territory
· Maintain/update CRM system to ensure agent records are up to date
· Orchestrate lead campaigns independently and with carrier partners to drive engagement and sales
Qualities and skills
· Exceptional phone communication skills; comfortable making outbound calls
· Excellent Interpersonal skills; comfortable networking and face-to-face interaction; outgoing personality
· Sales oriented, hunter mentality
· Strong follow-up skills, organized and detail oriented
· Self-motivated, high energy team player
· Ability to absorb training, government regulations, product specifics, etc.
· Motivated to make money
· Recruit new brokers through outbound phone calls and face to face meetings
Additional information
· Proficient use of Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, GoToMeeting/Webinar (or similar), CRM tools
· Hold Health and Life License
· Bachelor’s Degree Preferred, Not Required
· Social media experience with LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter is a plus.
· Sales experience preferred
· Medicare selling experience preferred
· Salary and job title commensurate with experience
