Job Summary
The Medical Assistant is an unlicensed healthcare professional who performs routine technical services within the medical practice settings under the supervision of the provider. This role is also responsible for supporting the front and back office clinic operations.
Pay Range
Rate of pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, education, as well as position requirements.
Experience
- Required: Minimum one (1) year of experience in front and back office pediatric medical office/clinic setting.
- Required: High School Diploma/GED or equivalent. Graduate of an accredited vocational school having successfully completed requirements for MA.
- Required: Knowledge and ability to provide appropriate patient care depending on age, cultural, and spiritual needs. Ability to set goals and judge results in accordance with the highest standards. Advance care through development of new ideas and technology. Promote teamwork to achieve CHOC's mission, understanding, and exceeding patient and family expectations. Effectively solve patient care and operational problems. Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English effectively at a level appropriate for the safe and effective performance of the job. Knowledge of computer systems and software used in functional area.
- Preferred: Bilingual in English/ Spanish.
- Required: Basic Life Support (BLS); Certified Medical Assistant.
