Job Description
Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, the Medical Assistant is responsible for providing patient care in the clinic. Helps assist physicians with patient care procedures. Works in lab area running tests, and sending out specimens to UAB lab. May do venipuncture. Helps organize, maintain and file patient charts.

Position Requirements:EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma or GED required. Successful completion of all IDX classes is required. Three (3)
years' experience as a medical assistant preferred.
LICENSE, CERTIFICATION AND/OR REGISTRATION:
Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA) by the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) required and, if
certified by another accrediting agency, NHA certification must be obtained within six (6) months of employment. Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification required or must be obtained within thirty (30) days of employment.
