Description
The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) seeks a Data Entry Specialist I. The Alzheimer's Disease Research Center (ADRC) seeks to hire a Data Entry Specialist to perform basic, routine data entry in support of the program's research activities. Under general supervision, the specialist will key and enter data from original source documents, forms, and records into computer using electronic data capture devices such as keyboards or optical scanners and will verify and update data as needed while identifying and correcting errors.
Key Duties, Primary Responsibilities:
To key from a variety of prepared original source documents, forms, and records
Identifies and corrects errors
To perform other duties requested by management
Accurately and efficiently performs keying assignments and associated data capture
Validation of previously keyed data to meet internal Quality Assurance (QA) standards
Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Worker Characteristics:
Ideal candidate would have some familiarity with basic and/or clinical research and would possess some level of familiarity with scientific and/or medical terminology.
Hourly Pay Range – $14.00 - $20.30
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent and experience with clinical documentation or data entry required
- Medical terminology knowledge preferred
