Operating as a non-profit society since 1977, Etana provides support services to adults with developmental disabilities. We work with individuals in the city of Red Deer with our office located in Red Deer.

We are currently seeking a Support Home in the city of Red Deer for a wonderful lady who is in her mid-fifties. Due to some mobility issues, it is preferred that the home be accessible (minimal stairs) and be able to support a portable lift system (Hoyer lift). The use of the lift system will require 2 people when needed.
The individual is fun loving who enjoys doing many different activities in the community. She is a sports fan, especially of the Edmonton Oilers. She also enjoys music, dancing, camping, crafts, using her I-pad, going for coffee.
She will require 1:1 supports throughout the day and time to think about the days plan given a few choices. She will also require some assistance with personal care.
You will complete your duties in your home and community ensuring that services provided are of the maximum possible benefit to the individual(s) and that services are operated in accordance with standards as set out by Etana, Disability Services and C.A.R.F Accreditation Standards.
All Support Home providers of Etana are required to pass a home assessment/home study.
Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma or Mature Status
Class 5 Driver's License, reliable vehicle and valid insurance (minimum $2,000,000.00)
Home Liability Insurance ($1,000,000.00 Minimum)
Experience in Human Service Field
Emergency First Aid Level A CPR
Current Vulnerable Sector check (less than 4 months old)
Experience in personal care
REQUIRED TRAINING (this training is available through Etana)
Abuse Protocol/ Protection of Persons in Care Act.
Medication Administration
Food Safe
Ergonomics
PPE
SIVA (Supporting Individuals Through Valued Attachments)
