Job Description
Vascular Institute of the Rockies has been the premier comprehensive, multi-disciplinary vascular surgery practice in the region for the past twenty plus years. In the past year, we have opened the first multi-disciplinary office based lab and ambulatory surgery center in the state of Colorado. As a Medical Assistant you will be responsible for providing administrative support to the back office to ensure efficient operations in our fast paced vascular surgery practice. You will support the provider clinics and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care coordination, organization and communication. Our medical assistants ensure patient follow up care by promptly placing orders and requesting outside diagnostic imaging, labs, etc for each clinic patient.
Responsibilities
- Room patients in a timely manner
- Verify social history, medical history, surgical history, allergies, current medications, etc
- Obtain blood pressures, oximetry readings, heart rate
- Document all history, vitals, medications in EMR
- Fax transcriptions of office visit to referring provider
- Arrange hospital admissions, pre-admission testing/clearance, and laboratory services
- Assist during medical examinations
- Produce and distribute correspondence memos, letters, faxes and forms
- Prepare and clean treatment rooms and medical instruments
- Assist during in office procedures (scrub and circulate) using sterile technique (willing to train)
- Change patient bandages and wound dressings as directed by the provider
- Coordinate all ingoing and outgoing medical records, imaging, labs, referrals, and authorization needs.
- Reviews surgery tracking sheets for completeness and accuracy before turning in to surgery schedulers
Skills
- Proven working experience as a medical assistant.
- Knowledge of medical office operations and patient care
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
- Team oriented and ability to work with a diverse team and environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Proficiency in MS Office and patient management software. Preferred ECW experience
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
