We are looking to add a diligent and knowledgeable Certified Pharmacy Technician to our team who thrives in a fast-paced work environment. If you are a quick learner who prefers a family-oriented, positive working atmosphere, in a non-retail setting this role is ideal for you.
Position Summary:
The Certified Pharmacy Technician is responsible for data entry in the pharmacy management system as well as answering and triaging pharmacy phone calls. This position will require you to multi-task in a fast-paced and growing environment.
Essential Functions:
- Provide information to patients regarding the readiness of compounds, mailing policies & procedures, and billing & insurance information.
- Assist pharmacist to prepare and dispense medication by receiving written prescriptions or refill requests, verifying that information is complete and accurate.
- Establish and maintain patient profiles, enters prescriptions accurately, and bills insurances appropriately.
- Answer incoming phone calls from patients and providers.
- Place calls to patients for onboarding and coordination of prescription services.
- Assist the pharmacy team in providing customer service.
- Clean and maintain work areas.
- Follow established SOPs, perform data entry, and perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Answer questions and provide basic information to pharmacy customers on compound ingredients, dosage, and storage of compounded medications.
- Effectively communicate with prescribers and other healthcare professionals and convey necessary information to the Compounding Pharmacist on duty.
- Develop and maintain an understanding of major compounding topics.
- Possibly attend external professional meetings and interacts professionally with patients, staff, and external associates.
- Assist other departments in over-flow.
- Scan and file prescriptions daily.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent certificate.
- Current state pharmacy technician license; certification required
- Authorization to fill Medicare and Medicaid prescriptions with strong knowledge of billing and third-party adjudication is a plus.
- Motivated and caring professional with strong interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrate an ability and desire to communicate effectively with customers, associates, and other health care professionals.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Working knowledge of computer and software applications used in job functions. (Word, Outlook, Excel, Pharmacy Management Software, etc.)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $33,280.00 - $45,000.00 per year
