Title: SECRETARY / DATA SPECIALIST - Full Time - Start date July 2023
Reports to: Executive Director
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma, experience in online education preferred.
Demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Experience in DASL, EMIS, SOES, On-line Curriculum Software preferred.
Self-directed and able to learn required skills for the position.
Record keeping skills and the ability to apply basic mathematical concepts.
Strong character and ethical standards.
Valid Ohio driver’s license.
Documented evidence of a clear criminal record.
Description: To process student data into DASL (Data Analysis for Student Learning), prepare reports and maintain appropriate data files for the state mandated Education Management Information System (EMIS). Maintain a professional atmosphere while performing necessary duties required in operating the office. Provide preliminary helpdesk support for student computers as well as maintain equipment inventory. Assist students, parents, visitors, and staff in an efficient manner. This position will be located primarily at the Greater Ohio Virtual School Student Center on the Warren County Educational Service Center Western Row Campus in Mason, Ohio.
Essential Functions:

Upholds board policies and follows administrative procedures.
Promotes a favorable image of the school district.
Responsible for all school related data processing activities including, but not limited to, scheduling, attendance, transcripts/grade reports, class lists and discipline.
Serve as the EMIS information processor for school district.
Maintain current instructional guides as it relates to EMIS to ensure accuracy of data when changes in law occur.
Safeguard student files so they are not lost, misfiled, or open to unauthorized personnel.
Manages time-sensitive projects.
Responsible for smooth operation and professional appearance of office.
Maintains confidentiality of privileged information. Respects personal privacy.
Type letters, memos and process reports for Administrative staff as directed. Duplicates and collates materials as directed. Helps prepare special mailings.
Operates all office equipment as needed.
Receives telephone calls and makes proper disposition of calls.
Receives, sorts, and counts money collected in office as directed.
Prepares requisitions as directed. Receives, stores, and inventories office supplies.
Display knowledge of activities and functions of school on a daily basis to answer routine questions from parents, communities and outside entities.
Participates in staff meetings and professional growth activities as directed.
Works as a cooperative team member and maintains a positive relationship with peers.
Performs such other duties as assigned by the building Administrators.

Repetitive hand motion, e.g., computer keyboard, typing.
Duties require detailed paperwork.

Interruption of duties by students, visitors, staff and or telephone.
