**$2,000 Sign On**
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:30 am - 5:00 pm
Work Location: UAB Dewberry 1917 Clinic
This position is located at the 1917 Clinic whose mission is to provide compassionate and comprehensive health care for persons living with HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) Infection.
Under the Nursing Supervisor supervision and according to established policies and procedures, the Medical Assistant is responsible for providing patient care in the clinic. Helps assist physicians with patient care procedures. Works to provide direct and indirect patient care in a clinical area for specific age and patient populations. May do venipuncture. Helps organize, maintain and file patient charts

Position Requirements:EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Required: High school diploma or equivalent. Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in performing simple medical and laboratory procedures and EKGs.
Preferred: Three years of clinical experience preferred.
LICENSE, CERTIFICATION AND/OR REGISTRATION:Required:
1) CCMA Certification from the National Healthcare Association (NHA) or the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA). If certified by another accrediting agency, NHA or AAMA certification must be obtained within 6 months of employment.
2) Current CPR certification or must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
