What does a BT do?
The Behavior Technician provides individualized, one-on-one intervention to teach communication, social, and daily living skills and reduce problematic behaviors in the home, community, and school settings. Behavior Technicians implement interventions developed based on the science of Applied Behavior Analysis, as directed and supervised by a BCBA. The BCBA assigned to your case will meet with you at least once weekly to guide how to structure sessions with the child to maximize the time that you spend with the youth, making sure that you are addressing the goals that have been formulated for the youth.
Responsibilities
- Experience deep satisfaction as you implement custom-designed treatment plans that truly change the lives of children with autism.
- Share in the extraordinary achievement of your clients as they develop positive behaviors and learn new skills.
- Measure each client's progress and monitor the effectiveness of treatment plans by collecting and reporting critical data using our advanced technology tools.
- Provide caring support during family conversations with the care team to ensure parents fully understand assessment results and treatment recommendations.
- Ensure satisfaction and the highest quality of care by promptly responding to the needs and requests of clients and their families.
- Make initial contact with the client or family to set a schedule for treatment sessions.
- Directly implement services in the designated setting(s) (school, home, community) as set by the office.
- Modify performance based on feedback from the supervisor.
- Interact with family and/or classroom teachers under the supervision of the BCBA.
- Assist with assessments as directed by your supervisor.
- Attend training including participation in initial agency training, initial training with the
- Maintain client confidentiality according to protocol.
- Other job functions to be assigned as determined by organizational needs.
Qualifications As an ideal BT candidate, you bring to Encore ABA:
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
- 1 year experience working with children or related fields (not required).
- Ability to work while following HIPPA confidentiality laws.
- Access to reliable transportation.
- Experience or comfortable working with children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
- Proven project management skills.
- Commitment to handling confidential information responsibly.
- Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
