Assistant Service Manager – Power Systems
Newington, CT
Pay: $85,000-$105,000 (depending on prior relevant experience)
Bonus: 15% bonus potential

Key qualifications:
Off-hour on-call availability (by phone only), including weekends and holidays, required
Minimum 5 years management experience in directing labor required (will consider equivalent combination of 2-year degree and work experience)
Strong computer skills; comfortable with new technology to manage service communications & related business processes
Strong operational & technical skills
Strong communication skills (both verbal and written)
Generator experience with troubleshooting and repair of electrical equipment (generator, ATS, switchgear) AC/DC, and diesel engine troubleshooting and repair preferred/a plus
Responsibilities
Assist Power Systems Service & Operations Manager in successfully delivering and selling service of recognized superior value by providing necessary key resources (people, materials, tooling and time)
Have resources (people and equipment) to effectively perform services
Effectively utilize the resources
Generate growth through service sales
Assist Power Systems Service & Operations Manager with daily operations to maximize the effective and efficient use of the service processes to provide fast, accurate service and minimize unnecessary expense
Effectively manage department operations
Continually monitor, measure, and improve processes
Forecast and budget resources to satisfy forecasts
Advise GSM of changes in available work vs. staffing levels
Ensure jobs are processed and billed on a daily basis
Staff and develop people to achieve all key results
Build & maintain an environment characterized by high productivity and high morale
Effectively manage employee performance (goal setting, providing feedback, coaching, timely reviews, recognition, holding people accountable, etc.)
Develop people to consistently achieve or exceed job expectations
Ensure a culture of safety through ongoing communication and timely completion of safety initiatives and reinforcing safe work habits.
Contribute to positive customer experiences by maintaining the professionalism, appearance and accessibility of our facilities
Continually assess the appearance, including cleanliness, professionalism, maintenance, and compliance with company policies, of your area of responsibility
Take corrective action on any items noted during these ongoing assessments to ensure compliance with company appearance standards
Implement any approved company recommendations for creating a professional appearance and ensuring the accessibility of our facilities
Qualifications
This position requires off hour on call availability, including weekends and holidays
Electric Power Generator experience with troubleshooting and repair of electrical equipment (generator, ATS, switchgear) AC/DC and/or diesel engine troubleshooting and repair (or similar field) required
Minimum 5 years management experience in directing labor - (will consider equivalent combination of education and related work experience managing labor)
Strong computer proficiency and comfortable with new technology in order to manage service communications and related business processes
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Strong operational and technical skills
Valid drivers license
