Job Description
Description
Medical assistants provide physician support services that ensure that healthcare facilities run smoothly. They are responsible for administrative as well as clinical tasks, such as maintaining patient records, preparing patients and rooms for examination, assisting physicians with exams, and performing front-desk tasks when necessary. Medical assistants also answer telephone calls with clinical concerns, complete medication refills and coordinate with referring physicians to ensure that the patient’s chart remains up to date with medical and surgery history as well as medications.
General Task List
- Prepare patients for examination, take vitals, and record patients' health history, medications, etc.
- Obtain necessary records prior to the date of service
- Ensure that necessary clinical information is loaded into the chart prior to patient appointment
- Ensure proper documentation for each patient per visit
- Maintaining a clean and safe environment for all patients
- Prepare equipment and examination rooms, and clean instruments
- Assist physician with medical examinations and in-office procedures
- Monitor inventory in the exam rooms and equip with appropriate supplies
· Assist in arranging laboratory services, necessary imaging, hospital surgeries
· Maintain up to date knowledge of current medical assisting practices
- Subject to additional tasks deemed appropriate by leadership
Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Completion of accredited medical assistant certification program
· BLS /CPR
· Excellent communication skills and able to maintain confidentiality at all times
· 1+ years of experience preferred
-Bilingual preferred (Spanish)

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
