Job Description
Busy specialty clinic is looking for a Full-time medical assistant to join our amazing growing practice! This position helps support our growing 9 provider medical group. The typical work hours are Monday-Thursday 0730-500pm and Friday 0730-1230. No call or weekends!
The ideal clinical medical assistant should have at least 2 years of experience working in a healthcare setting providing compassionate patient care-specialty medical practice preferred.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Patient liaison- verifies patient information by interviewing patient and accurate recording medical history helping patients feel at ease.
- Prepares patients for provider examination by obtain blood pressure, weight, and temperature; and reporting patient history summary.
- Coordinate care with outside providers in timely manner.
- Counsel patients and questions about medications and procedures, transmitting physician’s orders
- Preparing and administering medications, including by intramuscular, intradermal, and subcutaneous injections—including vaccinations/immunizations, as directed by a physician or other licensed provider (e.g., a nurse practitioner or physician assistant).
- Prepare, clean, stock clinic examination rooms.
- Secures patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records; completing diagnostic coding and procedure coding for orders; and keeping patient information confidential following all applicable local, state and federal laws.

Education/Experience and License Requirements.
- Knowledge in medical terminology, appropriate IM/SQ injection practices, infection control practices,
- 2+ years’ experience working in healthcare as medical assistant or functioning in similar role, specialty medical preferred.
- Certification/Registered as Medical Assistant strongly preferred but not required.
