Job Description
We are a top rheumatology practice focused in providing non-surgical orthopedic, rheumatologic and compassionate care to patients suffering from musculoskeletal pain. Our staff strive to ensure that our patients receive the highest standard of patient care.
We are seeking a bright, highly motivated, dedicated, organized, detailed-oriented, dependable, personable team player to join our team as a RADIOLOGY TECHNOLOGIST/MEDICAL ASSISTANT. This is an opportunity to work with an exceptional medical staff in South Florida.
Candidate must be extremely professional, friendly, energetic, willing to learn, able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and have a desire to work in a non-smoking office.
Responsibilities to include, but not limited to:
-Assisting Rheumatologist with procedures, both interventional and diagnostic
-Patient history taking/triaging
-Taking x-rays using safe practice measures
-Prescription preparation including all scheduled and non-scheduled medications (physical, electronic, verbal), home health services, outpatient services, imaging studies and DME
-Injection preparation and administration including but not limited to corticosteroids, chemotherapeutic agents, biologics and reconstituting lyophilized medications
-Educating patients for the procedure by providing information on possible side effects and therapeutic outcomes
-Electronic Health Records proficiency (NextGen)
-Knowledge of rheumatology terminology
-Ultrasound and knobology knowledge
-Anatomy knowledge
-Assist with tracking medical supplies inventory and putting away medical supply deliveries
-Proper clean-up of biohazard, sharps box and regular garbage (OSHA compliance)
-Communication w/team members
-Interaction with pharmaceutical reps
-Opening duties to include turning off the practice's alarm, turning on all lights, turning on computers, turning on U/S machines, turning on and logging-in to x-ray machine and being aware of patient charts that come up
-Closing duties to include clean-up and restocking of rooms, sending out labs, shut down x-ray machine, shut down ultrasound machines, empty shredding and breaking down boxes
Qualified Candidate Requirements:
\* Medical Assistant experience REQUIRED
\* Superior organizational skills and attention to detail
\* Experience using an electronic medical record REQUIRED (preferably NextGen)
\* Strong IT skills, computer expertise includes: Word, Outlook and Excel
\* High accuracy in data entry and strong follow-up skills
\* 4-year college degree preferred or 4 years minimum of working experience in a medical office
Compensation:
Competitive salary based upon experience
Hours: 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (flexibility required)
Days: Monday through Friday
