This position will sometimes work in our Salisbury office as well.
This certified medical assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) is a non-exempt, in person position and duties include, but are not limited to:
Daily clinics are prepared for in advance
Completes patient work ups to include…
- Vital Signs
- Weight
- medication reconciliation
- Updating PMH
Works prescription refills according to practice policy
Performs precise venous and capillary phlebotomy
Updates pharmacy information
Demonstrates an understanding of Immunization, Lab Order, Charge and Problem entry as well as their associated workflows.
Reviews encounter forms for orders
Demonstrates Basic assessment Skills
Assures authorizations have been secured prior to drug administration
Complies with medication administration guidelines
Schedules follow up appointments
Understands and enters Charge and CYMA entries accordingly
Maintains drug storage requirements
Follows equipment operating instructions and notifies appropriate personnel of any malfunctions.
Requirements:
Certification: CMA, RMA. Medical Assistant certification has been maintained. CPR certification is current
Experience: Minimum of two years’ experience working in a medical facility as a medical assistant.
Education: High School Diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED). Completion of a medical assistant training program through an accredited school.
Technical Skills: Knowledge of the health care field and medical office protocols/procedures. Knowledge of specific assisting tasks related to the particular medical practice. Knowledge of information that must be conveyed to patients and families. Knowledge of legal and ethical considerations related to patient information.
