Job Description
As a medical assistant you will be responsible for the following:
1. Check in patients which includes getting their vitals, entering information into the EMR, and getting a complete history of present illness.
2. Updating chart as appropriate for correct medications, immunizations, surgeries, etc.
3. Give injections as ordered.
4. Perform EKG’s as ordered.
5. Perform urine drug screens as ordered.
6. Complete prior authorizations for medications as appropriate.
7. Order supplies as needed based on inventory.
8. Complete forms as instructed by provider which includes FMLA paperwork, disability, and physical forms.
9. Refer patients as ordered by provider which includes faxing demographic and insurance information.
10. Schedule tests ordered by provider including ultrasounds, CT scans, MRI’s and such.
11. Get labs ready for the provider to review daily.
12. Call patients with lab/radiology results.
13. Call patients back in a timely manner regarding questions they have left a message for in the office.
14. Help answer phones as back up for the front desk.
15. Scan documents into the EMR and categorize them as appropriate.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $15.00 per hour
