Position Description
Performs assigned patient care duties under the direction of a licensed provider (MD/PA/NP) or RN. Responsible for performing CMA clinical duties to include, but are not limited to: obtaining vital signs, administering limited profile of medications/ injections per approved policy, performing simple diagnostic tests, collecting specimens, drawing blood, cleaning equipment, ordering/stock supplies and maintain exam rooms in an outpatient care setting. Assists in emergency situations as directed by a licensed provider or RN. Duties are practice site-specific and may fluctuate based on location. The Courier will be tasked with delivering necessary items to the patient at their home while they are in the Virtual Care @ Home program. This might include food delivery, medical supplies, remote monitoring equipment, and educational resources. The Courier will be responsible for assisting with lab draws for the patient and coordinating any non-emergent transportation needs for patients to receive medical care.
Position Requirements
High school diploma or GED from a recognized State or Federal accrediting organization with completion of an accredited medical assistant program. Certified as a Medical Assistant by one of the following bodies: AAMA, AMT, NCCT, NHA or MedCA. Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS). . Ability to work with all age groups. Good customer service and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of Electronic Medical Records. Skills in phlebotomy, EKG and manual BP.
Preferred Requirements
Associates Degree in Medical Assisting. One year or more of experience in outpatient setting, preferably experience in specialty for which applicant is applying.
