The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by a number of factors including skills, experience, education, certifications and location. The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.

Actively searching for a highly productive member of a remotely distributed, dynamic, and virtually collaborative agile team to serve as a technical expert in analysis, design, coding, and testing innovative Policy Center and Claim Center Guidewire application.
We prefer Ohio based candidates.
Job Summary
As a Principal Guidewire Engineer you will work with other software engineers, data engineers, solutions engineers, architects, managers, directors and vendors to help maintain our Claims Center and Policy Center application. You will work collaboratively with remotely distributed team to develop, maintain and improve performance of application and/or software from user stories and technical/architectural specifications. You will analyze complex technical system problems and create innovative solutions that exceed expectations.
Highly competitive applicants will have:
Expertise in Guidewire Claim Center and Policy Center.
In depth knowledge of Guidewire framework, Gosu, Guidewire Message Queues and Guidewire Batch process.
Proficient in Microsoft SQL Server, Apache Tomcat and Mulesoft.
Ability to develop on multiple platforms, such as AWS, or a related technology.
Knowledge of API Gateway, Appsync, Lambda, Step Functions, Dynamo DB and Microservices.
Nice to have Java and Python skills.
Integration with and management of APIs exposing microservices such as REST, SOAP, or a related technology.
Demonstrable experience of Cloud-based distributed, event driven application architecture.
Agile software development concepts and processes such as SAFe, Scrum practices, or a related technology.
Motivated mentor : Exercise your technical skills while coaching and collaborating with junior software engineers.
Technical problem solver : Going far beyond simply developing error-free source code, test scripts, components. You will document and build deployment guides aimed at maintaining robust and relevant software.
Qualifications
Bachelor`s degree, or equivalent work experience.
Minimum of 8+ years of Guidewire experience.
Experience with Guidewire Claim Center and Policy Center required.
Experience with AWS strongly prefered.
IT concepts, strategies, and methodologies such as Agile, Continuous Improvement/Continuous Delivery, or a related technology.
In-depth knowledge of IT concepts, strategies and methodologies.
In-depth knowledge of diverse and emerging technologies and new architectural concepts and principles.
Knowledge in data engineering languages and tools; proficient in new and emerging technologies.
In-depth understanding of layered solutions and designs; in-depth understanding of shared data engineering concepts and product features, as well as security minded.
In-depth knowledge of business operations, objectives and strategies; in-depth understanding of global business and technology trends.
Highly developed negotiation, consensus building & influencing skills, facilitation and the adaptability to respond to change quickly.
Highly developed oral and written communication skills; strong presentation skills.
Ability to effectively collaborate with all levels of the organization.
