We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer/Architect with expertise in designing, implementing, and managing wide area networks (WANs), local area networks (LANs), Palo Alto Firewalls, Meraki Switches and wireless networks. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and a deep understanding of network infrastructure, security, and performance optimization. They will own and work collaboratively with the Aprio Managed Service Provider to design, deploy, and maintain network solutions that meet our organization's needs while ensuring reliability, scalability, and security.
Position responsibilities:Network Design & Architecture:
Design and implement WAN and LAN infrastructure to meet business requirements.
Develop network architecture plans, including network topology, IP addressing, and VLAN segmentation.
Design and configure Palo Alto Firewalls to enforce network security policies.
Design and configure Meraki Switches for efficient network traffic management and VLAN segmentation.
Design and configure wireless networks for seamless connectivity and optimal performance.
Network Implementation and Deployment:
Deploy and configure network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
Install and configure Palo Alto Firewalls to secure network traffic and protect against cyber threats.
Configure Meraki Switches for efficient network traffic management and VLAN segmentation.
Deploy and optimize wireless networks for reliable and high-performance connectivity.
Network Monitoring and Troubleshooting:
Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and proactively address network issues.
Conduct network troubleshooting and root cause analysis to resolve connectivity or performance problems.
Utilize network monitoring tools to ensure network availability, performance, and security.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to diagnose and resolve network-related incidents.
Network Security:
Develop and implement network security policies and procedures.
Configure Palo Alto Firewalls to enforce security policies and protect against external threats.
Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and recommend mitigations.
Stay up to date with the latest network security trends and technologies.
Documentation and Reporting:
Create and maintain detailed network documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and procedures.
Prepare reports on network performance, security incidents, and capacity planning.
Document network changes, upgrades, and maintenance activities.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
3-5 years of experience in a network engineering environment, with a focus on WAN/LAN, Palo Alto Firewall, Meraki Switches, and wireless networks.
In-depth knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies (TCP/IP, VLANs, BGP, OSPF, etc.).
Strong experience with Palo Alto Firewalls, including configuration, policies, and security best practices.
Hands-on experience with Meraki Switches and wireless access points, including configuration and troubleshooting.
Understanding of network performance optimization techniques and QoS principles.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to troubleshoot complex network issues.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE), or equivalent certifications are highly desirable.
The salary range for this opportunity is stated above. As such, an actual salary may fall closer to one or the other end of the range, and in certain circumstances, may wind up being outside of the listed salary range.
