About HomeTown
HomeTown Pharmacy is a mid-sized pharmacy chain with over 35 locations throughout Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana and is continuing to grow. Our new corporate office in New Era, Michigan, is where this location will be based, however some travel to our pharmacies is expected of this position as well as participation in our on-call schedule which rotates through the IT department. We are looking for candidates with existing experience with help desk/desktop support, with opportunity to advance into more technical systems roles.
About the Position
The Technical Support Specialist is a entry to mid-level internal desktop support position responsible for troubleshooting various hardware and software systems, including but not limited to: the pharmacy software system, point of sale system, document management system, printing, storage, network, and voice communications, workstations, laptops, POS registers, fax machines, printers, scanners, dispensing systems, telephone, internet equipment and services. This position requires existing exceptional customer service skills and ability to troubleshoot technical problems and will provide on-the-job training. This position reports to the IT Director.
Required experience
1-2 or more years of Help Desk or Tech Support experience utilizing a ticketing system or managing a ticket queue.
Experience troubleshooting hardware/software issues and networks/server issues.
Knowledge of basic network and Windows troubleshooting.
Excellent customer service.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Microsoft Intune and Microsoft 365
The job expectations are as follows

Maintain confidentiality of information accessed in course of duties.
Participate in on-call rotation.
Travel to pharmacies (one or two days a week, occasional overnight stay in a hotel).

Proper use of company property (i.e. vehicles, computers, phones).
Be on time.
Transport, lift, and deliver up to 50 lbs.
Establish effective working relationships with teammates and vendors.
Bonus experience (not required or expected)
Ability to write basic bash, batch, or PowerShell scripts.
Linux command-line.
Prior pharmacy experience.
