SUPERIOR FARMS
Superior Farms is an employee-owned company and the leading purveyor of farm-to-table American lamb. We proudly source lamb from family farmers and ranchers across the Western US so that we can supply the highest quality natural lamb to our retail and foodservice customers.
Job Summary:
The Purchasing Clerk is responsible for maintaining accurate records of inventory, ordering supplies, and managing purchase orders. You will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth and efficient operations and your attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to manage inventory records will be instrumental in maintaining accurate stock levels, managing purchase orders, and ensuring timely delivery of supplies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Receiving all materials and accurately entering quantities received into our computer database.
Distributing supplies needed for each department every morning prior to production start-up, ensuring that everything is in order for smooth operations.
Preparing for and participating in monthly and yearly physical inventory counts to ensure that we have accurate records of all materials.
Monitoring inventory levels and determining when additional materials are necessary. You will be responsible for ordering more materials and supplies when required.
Communicating with our customers and suppliers to answer inquiries about order status, changes, or cancellations, and always providing excellent customer service.
Taking on buying duties as necessary, working with suppliers to schedule or expedite deliveries and to resolve shortages, missed or late deliveries, and other problems.
Preparing, maintaining, and reviewing purchasing files, reports, and price lists to ensure that our records are up to date and accurate.
Tracking the status of requisitions and orders to ensure that everything is progressing smoothly.
Performing other duties as requested, directed, or assigned to support our team and our operations.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Forklift certification is preferred, but not required.
Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred, but not required.
Demonstrated proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Office and inventory management software.
Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
Ability to handle confidential information and records with discretion and professionalism.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to identify potential problems or discrepancies in inventory records.
Physical Demands:
Ability to sit, stand, and bend for extended periods of time.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently.
Ability to walk up to 8 hours per day.
Work Environment:
A combination of office and plant environments.
Exposure to elements such as odor, noise, dust, heat, cold, and chemicals.
