Job Description/Responsibilities:
The Associate Shopper Marketing Manager is a marketing resource for priority National Key Account Retailers that serves to link Sales & Retailer needs with Brand initiatives to ensure more impactful planning, communication, execution, and measurement of company priority brands within Regional Grocery retailers. Includes ownership of channel strategy, developing custom selling tools and programs to drive retailer feature and display, providing actionable recaps of programs executed and continually seeking new solutions to connect Sazerac brands with consumers throughout all points of their shopping journey.
CHANNEL STRATEGY OWNERSHIP – Owner and subject matter expert in evolving Channel Strategy for Regional Grocery retailers. Strategic expert in national key Retailer business drivers and inhibitors.
STRATEGIC SHOPPER MARKETING PLAN DEVELOPMENT – Develop customized 360 Shopper Marketing plans for strategic retailers that align with both the retailer business drivers and Sazerac programming and brand priorities that are aimed at driving consumer pull, obtaining new distribution and overall sales revenue growth. Understand short and long-term priorities, opportunities and goals. Plans should also align with Channel Strategies and evolving dynamics. Stay abreast of capabilities and shopper levers to ensure recommended programming is timely and relevant.
ANNUAL PLANNING LEADER – Lead annual Shopper Marketing program planning for Regional Grocery retailers by working closely with Sales and Brand stakeholders to align on company and channel/retailer objectives. Plan to be translated into annual Budget/Spend implications and communicated accordingly. Active participant during Brand planning meetings to act as retailer expert in discussing opportunities and programs that will help drive brand priorities.
SELLING STORY/TOOL DEVELOPMENT – Be the Brand plan expert to the Regional Grocery Sales team. Deliver customized insights and fact-based selling tools/stories for key retailers in conjunction with Category Leadership partners. Develop and communicate relevant sales materials pertaining to Brand plans, innovation and/or programming to set-up the sales team for success.
KPI SETTING & MEASUREMENT – Establish overall program KPIs and tactic-specific KPIs that clearly define a look of success. Upon program completion, ensure program recaps are provided within 60 days of program ending. Share learnings and KPI results with key stakeholders such as Brand, Sales, Category Leadership and Shopper Marketing teams and adjust accordingly.
PROGRAM ACTIVATION + BUDGET MANAGEMENT – Activate/execute sold-in Shopper Marketing programming for key Regional Grocery retailers. Achieve executional excellence by working cross-functionally with Sales, Category Leadership, Brand, Creative and Print Procurement teams and externally with the Retailer and Distributor partners. Ensure all timelines are met and actively communicated to all key stakeholders. Brief pertinent agencies on program mechanics i.e. creative agencies, procurement agencies/teams, promotional event agencies, sweeps fulfillment agencies, etc. Provide agency partners with clear guidance on program KPIs, requirements and expectations. If needed, work with legal team on any local program mechanics to ensure legal compliance i.e. offer legalities, etc. Work closely with Sales team and supporting Sales Execution team members and/or Distributor partners to ensure they have all the tools needed for executional excellence. In collaboration with Brand and state Sales teams, manage activation budget. Flag and keep track of any overages/variances to the budget and communicate with appropriate teams.
PERSONAL & CAREER DEVELOPMENT – Leverage Sazerac’s Performance Development System (PDS) to identify areas for self-improvement that improves effectiveness both professionally and personally. Also utilize Sazerac’s Career Development System (CDS) to identify both short and long-term career goals and develop an action plan with appropriate learning opportunities, training and experiences to achieve them.
