Job Description
Atlantic Orthopaedics Sports Medicine is growing again!
We are currently seeking an additional Orthopedic Technician/MA to our Clinical Team!
In this position you will be performing both clinical and clerical tasks, under the direct supervision of Clinical Manager, Physicians and Physician Assistants.
Clinical duties include: wound care, casting, splinting, taking and recording medical histories in the EHR system, preparing patients for examination, cast and/or suture and staple removal, drawing up medications for administration by the physicians or PA's.
Clerical responsibilities include: scheduling appointments, telephone triage, e-prescribing prescriptions, faxing prior authorizations, referrals, scanning, and maintaining EHR.
Skills and abilities: Casting & Splinting Skills along with Wound Care Professional attitude, appearance, customer service skills, attention to detail and knowledge of Medical Terminology.
Must have the ability to multi-task along with excellent written and verbal communication skills both written and verbal.

Position Requirements:
Orthopedic Technicians and/or Medical Assistants are encouraged to apply!
Experience in casting, splinting skills and wound care a plus!
High school diploma or equivalent
Customer service experience in a medical setting
Computer and data entry experience
Ability to work some days at our York, Maine location
Skills and Abilities:
Friendly and caring
Experience with Allscripts PM and/or Phoenix Orthopaedics software a plus
Ability to maintain composure and focus during high traffic times
Strong work ethic
Physical Requirements:
· Must be able to lift and carry 10 pounds
· Must be able to walk, stand, and bend to carry out essential job
functions
