Job Description
Seattle Spine & Sports Medicine is looking for a Medical Assistant who will join us in providing high quality care to our patients. In this position, you will work directly with physicians and nurse practitioners to assist in clinical care, perform clerical tasks, and ensure smooth workflow.
We are a specialty Physical Medicine practice committed to serving our community by providing compassionate, comprehensive care to our patients, treating our team with respect, fairness, and understanding, and maintaining exceptional integrity in all of our practices.

Required Skills
- Basic technical skills with computers; proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook
- Phlebotomy, experience in specimen collection and disposal (blood, urine), and training in bloodborne pathogen safety OR willingness to complete phlebotomy course upon hiring
- Past work experience in patient care
Desired Skills
- Experience with EMR/EHR system
- Knowledge of sterile technique
- Experience with administrative tasks in a healthcare setting, including scheduling, basic knowledge of insurance practices, etc.
- Understanding of HIPAA compliance
- Basic Medical Terminology
Summary of Responsibilities
- Work directly with clinicians to ensure their schedule runs smoothly and patient needs are met
- Escort patients to exam rooms and take history, as needed
- Prepare for patient exams and procedures, practicing sterile technique where applicable
- Perform blood draws as needed in preparation for procedures
- Assist physicians with procedures and other patient care-related tasks
- Keep clinic tidy and well-stocked with supplies
- Assist with patient care coordination (fax referrals, obtain medical records, contact outside offices, etc.)
- Answer phones
- Ensure procedures are authorized by insurance
- Assist other staff with phone calls, scheduling, clerical activities, and other miscellaneous duties when necessary
