Job Description
We are looking for an experience, exceptional, highly motivated, skilled, and engaging professional to fill a Medical Assistant position in our busy, fast-paced primary care practice. Duties would include but not limited to: preparing treatment rooms for examinations, EKGs, performing Cardiovascular assessments, administering injections, completing referrals and prescription refills, reviewing lab results and communicating to patients. You will also be assisting our practitioners during medical procedures. As a successful candidate, you will be responsible for obtaining patient records and test results, coordinating daily administrative tasks such as patient registration, scheduling, insurance verification, filing and general office duties required to successfully meet the needs of our patients. Positive attitude and attention to detail a must! Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. To enhance our patient experience, a professional disposition in speech and attire is required as well as excellent customer service skills. You will coordinate with other staff members to ensure patient flow is maximized. You should be able to deal with emergencies in a timely and effective manner, while streamlining office operations. Multitasking and stress management skills are essential for this position. This is a growing practice, so flexibility is required. Occasional overtime may be required. Responsibilities
- Interview patients and document medical history and other screenings
- Read lab results and call patients to discuss as directed by physician
- Send prescriptions to pharmacies as directed
- Prepare referrals for patients
- Call patients to schedule appointment as needed
- Update electronic health records
- Scan documents into health records as needed
- Ability to perform phlebotomy tasks is preferred, but not required
- Organize and schedule appointments
- Update and file medical records and insurance reports
- Prepare laboratory specimens
- Assist during medical examinations
- Produce and distribute correspondence memos, letters, faxes and forms
- Prepare and clean treatment rooms and medical instruments
Skills
- Proven working experience as a medical assistant or medical secretary
- Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
- Social perceptiveness and service oriented
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Proficiency in MS Office and patient management software
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
