Job Description
MPI has an opening for a talented Contributions Processing Representative to join our Contributions team! The Contributions Department is responsible for processing all hours and Individual Account Plan (IAP) percentage contributions reported to Motion Picture Industry Pension & Health Plans by the employers. The department processes an average of 10 million hours per month, and conducts a monthly closing to qualify Plan Participants for eligibility based on the number of hours worked.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Edit hours reported, including checking all edit/error codes and verifying data entry accuracy
- Contact employers regarding reported data or reports that were submitted incorrectly and do all necessary follow ups to resolve issues
- Prepare Employer Contribution Reports for processing
- Verifying on-line deposit information
- Contacting employers on unclear data and questionable hours and doing all necessary follow ups
- Calculating and balancing report totals
- Adjust contribution reports as needed
- Data entry of Employer Contribution Reports
- Prepare billing and/or credit requests as needed
- Prepare electronically submitted tapes for editing (all types)
- Conduct Employer Statement reviews and reconciliations
- Serve as back-up for writing up and sending out billing and credit notices to employers
- Handle participant inquiries as needed
- Complete special projects or other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years Contribution Processing experience or comparable work experience desirable. “Comparable work experience” encompasses the skills, abilities and work experience listed below
- Data processing and/or accounting experience highly desirable; strong technical and analytical skills are required
- Self-Starter, well organized with strict attention to detail, high level of accuracy, and has effective time management skills
- Able to learn quickly and follow directions precisely
- Reliable, responsible, able to work with minimum supervision
- Able to handle fast-paced work, follow through to completion of tasks and meet deadlines
- Able to work well with individuals at all levels of the organization
- A flexible team player with a positive, cooperative and helpful attitude and willingness to assume additional duties as needed; displays excellent collaboration skills
- Pleasant interpersonal skills; ability to interact effectively with others
- Clear, articulate, professional and effective verbal communication skills
- Strong written communication skills, excellent grammar and spelling required
- Proficient in PC skills, including windows; MS Word and MS Excel required
- Accurate typing skills of 45 wpm; 10-key by touch
- Excellent attendance/punctuality record required
- Ability to accept direction and developmental guidance from supervisor
- Ability to adhere to organizational values
- Available to work overtime/extended hours as needed
- Minimum high school diploma or GED is required. Some college preferred
Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
