AFC Urgent Care is searching for full-time Certified Medical Assistants for its new center in Livingston NJ, slated to open in July 2023. Our full-time staff are eligible for health benefits and paid vacation. Position Description
Certified Medical Assistants are primarily responsible for assisting our board-certified medical providers with the provision of outstanding patient medical care. Our Certified Medical Assistants report to the Practice Administrator for non-clinical matters and the Medical Director (or staff provider) for clinical matters. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Greeting and registering patients (including insurance verification and co-pay collection);
- Escorting patients to examination rooms;
- Assisting with patient triage by taking vital signs;
- Documenting relevant patient data;
- Performing laboratory testing;
- Assisting the provider on-duty with minor procedures;
- Discharging patients with detailed instructions;
- Maintaining efficient and organized patient flow;
- Tracking and replenishing inventories and other supplies; and
- Assisting with equipment maintenance and ensuring cleanliness.
Qualifications
- At least two (2) years of clinical experience in a medical office setting;
- Medical Assistant Certification;
- Prior urgent care experience preferred;
- Familiarity with occupational medicine a plus;
- Compassionate communicator with excellent patient interaction skills;
- Highly professional appearance;
- Team-player able to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced environment;
- High-energy individual with a positive attitude; and
- Comfortable working with electronic medical records.
