Job Description
QuikMed is QuikTrip’s internally managed primary care clinics, available exclusively to QuikTrip employees and their families on the QuikTrip Health Plan. We are in need for Medical Assistants in the Ellenwood, GA area.
This position is responsible for creating and maintaining a positive patient experience at QuikMed; involved in both clinical and administrative areas including assisting physicians with patient care and handling clerical, environmental and organizational tasks; caring for patients under the direction of the Clinic Supervisor, Advanced Practitioners, Medical Director, and in compliance with QuikMed's philosophy as well as standards of practice and regulations of government agencies. This position will report to the Clinic Supervisor.
The requirements for this position include:
- High school graduate/GED/vocational training equivalency.
- Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
- Valid state/government issued identification.
- Medical Assistant education in progress or certification OR may be substituted for 6 months with direct patient care in a clinical setting in emergency medicine, urgent care, primary care, or an ambulatory care setting as a Medical Assistant, certified Emergency Medical Technician, or Paramedic.
- 1-3 years direct patient care in a clinical setting in emergency medicine, urgent care, primary care, or an ambulatory care setting as a Medical Assistant, certified Emergency Medical Technician, or Paramedic.
- With current experience required in Electrocardiogram (EKG), vital signs, venipuncture, capillary, and injection. People-oriented, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills and a professional demeanor.
- Ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team, prioritize tasks, triage patients, and take vital signs.
- Understanding of HIPAA and patient privacy.
- Knowledge of and ability to demonstrate administering medication(s) ordered by providers.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts and apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
The hours for this position will vary according to business needs, projects, and deadlines. The minimum starting salary for this position can be up to $16.30 depending on related experience and qualifications. This role will have possible travel between Ellenwood and Marietta.

Pay: $16.84 - $27.24 per hour
