Job Description
POSITION DUTIES:
1 Greets patients and determines their needs.
2 Makes and checks off appointments.
3 Gives routine and non-medical instructions in before patient's visit.
4 Answers the telephone.
5 Gives information directly over the telephone within the limits of her knowledge and medical practice policy.
6 Takes and relays messages (telephone, fax, email, and verbal)
7 Secures accurate insurance and demographic information from the patient.
8 Verifies insurance eligibility in the absence of Central Insurance Verification staff.
9 Ensures referrals are in place prior to patient being seen.
10 Prepares new patient files
11 Pulls all files for next day's patient activity.
12 Makes appointment reminder calls to patients 2 days prior to scheduled visit.
13 Responds and acts on specific physician requests.
14 Collects time of service co-pay, co-insurance, and over the counter payments.
15 Collects over the counter payments for patient balances.
16 Posts daily charges and receipts and balances at the conclusion of the day's activities.
17 Prepares office deposits daily.
18 Completes practice end-of-day close reports and scans information into network.
19 Replaces patient files in appropriate area upon completion of use of file.
20 Prepares daily in-bound/out-bound courier packages
21 Process daily mail intake and sort. Ensure Progress Notes are sent timely.
22 Process daily fax intake and sort.
23 Maintains work area and waiting room in neat and orderly manner.
24 Performs other duties as required.
Assumptions:
Site is open 5 days/week with patients seen in am/pm.
Charge posting is done at site.
Telephone calls are handled through site.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.00 - $18.00 per hour
