Job Description
Title: Experienced Certified Medical Assistant In Espanola, New Mexico
We are currently seeking an experienced Certified Medical Assistant to join our team for a 13-week contract in Espanola, NM. As a team player, you will work in a fast-paced environment and be flexible with fluctuating shifts and departmental needs. Candidates must have completed at least one 13-week travel assignment and have an active certification as a CMA, CCMA or RMA with a BLS certification completed through American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross.
Duties will include but not limited to: monitoring patients and collecting information for documentation in the patient record, posting laboratory and other test results, transporting patients and documenting actions on the patient record, collecting and recording vital signs, weights, and other patient data in the patient record, administering oxygen under the direction of a licensed nurse, assisting clinicians and providers with sterile procedures, documenting all care provided in the appropriate place in the patient record, and removing peripheral, intravenous therapy lines, and urethral tubes. You will also operate patient monitoring systems specific to unit needs, ensure cleanliness of nutrition areas and the general unit, clean and store equipment, empty trash, linen bags, and sharps containers, stock medical supplies, linens, and paper goods, perform basic clerical duties such as answering phones, taking messages, filing, and copying, organize care in a manner that contributes to the overall quality of the team, and perform other functions as required.
To be considered for this position, candidates must disclose their time-off requests with initial submission, have a minimum of one year of experience, and be accustomed to working in a fast-paced environment. Travelers are first to float within the facility and to alternate locations within 20 miles of their permanent assigned location. Scrubs will be required and provided by the facility, and orientation will be provided during the first week of the contract, not to exceed 40 total hours, including EPIC training.
