Job Description
Green Mountain Pediatrics is a long established pediatric practice in Lakewood, Colorado. Our mission is to provide our patients with the best and most comprehensive pediatric care possible in a small, friendly, personal office setting with the goal of working with families to ensure that each child will grow and develop to realize their full potential.
We are looking for a part-time Medical Assistant to join our team!
As a Medical Assistant at Green Mountain Pediatrics, you will play a vital role in providing excellent care for our patients - and their parents! You will support our providers through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization and communication. You will be expected to complete your duties thoroughly and accurately and be a friendly teammate! When working telephone triage, you will be expected to follow the protocol set forth and provide quality care over the phone.
Your clinical duties may include, but are not limited to:
Taking medical histories
Explaining treatment procedures to patients
Preparing patients for examinations
Assisting the physician during examinations
Collecting and preparing laboratory specimens
Performing basic laboratory tests
Taking vitals (height, weight, blood pressure, head circumference, temperature)
Instructing patients about medication and special diets
Preparing and administering medications, including by intramuscular, intradermal, and subcutaneous injections—including vaccinations/immunizations, as directed by a physician or other licensed provider (e.g., a nurse practitioner or physician assistant)
Transmitting prescription refills as directed
Phlebotomy
Vision/Hearing Tests, COVID / Flu / Strep / Stool tests
Telephone triage
Your administrative duties may include, but are not limited to:
Using computer applications (Athena Health)
Answering telephones
Welcoming patients
Updating and filing patient medical records and chart prep.
Medical record release
Scheduling appointments
Arranging for hospital admissions and laboratory services
Prior authorization
Health appraisals
Skills we're looking for:
- Proven working experience as a medical assistant
- Proven working experience with telephone triage
- Ability to work as an effective and supportive team member
- Knowledge of professional customer service practices
- Ability to accurately compile data and perform detailed work
- Knowledgeable with electronic medical record documentation (prefer experience with Athena EMR)
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to maintain regular attendance
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong organization skills
- Practice professional verbal and written communication skills
Rockstar candidates are bilingual (Spanish) certified MAs, and have experience with telephone triage and Athena EMR. Candidates must have experience as a medical assistant to be considered for the job.
We're looking for someone to work 3-4 days per week (24-32 hours). You must be able to work Thursdays. Your hours will be around 8am - 5pm, depending on patient appointments.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
