Job Description
The Service Manager is responsible for running the dealership’s service department efficiently and profitably, while ensuring an optimal customer experience. The Service Manager will run the department at full production, while controlling costs, increasing retention, maintaining good employee relationships, while setting monthly performance objectives and maintaining accurate service records. The Service Manager will ensure that the customer experience meets or exceeds the manufacturer’s customer satisfaction index and for monitoring customer satisfaction. The Service Manager oversees the Service BDC to ensure the department is properly booked, allowing for emergencies and walk-ins. The Service Manager will create a positive working environment, properly manage the assets of the department, and hold service employees accountable for processes and job performance.
- Run an efficient and profitable Service Department through productive staffing, customer retention, and achievement of objectives, while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Lead by example – demonstrating proper customer handling, including tablet utilization, electronic MPIs, history and contact info validation, e-invoicing, RO reviews, status updates by text, email collection, and a superior active delivery process
- Be actively involved and responsible for your team members’ growth and development by driving continuous improvement that facilitates exceptional team outputs and customer service
- Hire, manage and supervise the performance of the service department including advisors, technicians, BDC, cashiers, etc.
- Maintain a high Customer Service Index rating, reduce customer complaints, and increase customer retention
- Manage shop production and proper appointment scheduling to maximize production and revenue
- Create work schedules and maintain proper accounting of Service Technicians’ productivity
- Ensure that technicians keep their skills current through manufacturer training, ASE training, and Reynolds
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment for all guests and employees and understand and comply with federal, state, and local regulations that affect service and parts operations and OSHA compliance
- Review and understand manufacturer warranty and policy procedures
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
