Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
Medical Laser Services, LLC (dba Cosmetic Enhancement Center of NE) is seeking a reliable and dependable Medical Assistant that is flexible with their hours. Under the direction of the Medical Director, the Medical Assistant (MA) is responsible for ensuring the most efficient patient flow as it relates to patient treatments. The MA’s are responsible for providing quality patient care within the scope of their credentials under the direction and supervision of the physician/providers/supervisor. The MA will assist in all aspects of patient care and treatments while performing duties in accordance to the standards set forth by the Cosmetic Enhancement Center of New England, LLC. The MA may perform administrative duties and clinical duties including updating medical records, taking and recording accurate vitals and medical histories, preparing patients for examinations, drawing blood, taking before and after photos, scribing, and backing up other members of your team, as needed.
Opening and Closing
- Reviews daily schedule in an effort to prepare for the day.
- Prepares rooms and ensures they are clean, neat, and fully stocked.
- Ensures the appropriate equipment is turned on and room is ready for treatment.
Patient Care Implementation
- Autoclaves, cleans and sterilizes instruments and equipment and disposes contaminated supplies according to OSHA regulations. Stores equipment as needed.
- Reviews charts prior to examination and updates providers, as necessary.
- Manages patient flow by greeting and rooming patients in professional and timely manner.
- Performs and records vital signs statistics on each patient.
- Takes before and after photos on each patient.
- Ensures patient is comfortable and informed of any time constraints.
- Performs phlebotomy procedures as required and follows safety guidelines.
- Assist the provider with procedure, as needed.
- Provides accurate and complete pre and post care instructions to patient.
- Assist with laundry (when closing ensure all laundry is collect and taken downstairs)
- Knows patients whereabout at all times from check in to check out.
Documentation
- Interviews patients to obtain medical information ensuring consents are signed and other paperwork is complete (i.e., patient interest form, consents).
- Ensures accurate charting (EMR), closing and opening notes.
- Updates pertinent vaccinations.
- Discusses treatment of interest and utilizes Touch MD to educate patients about the products and services provided.
Safety
- Upholds and practices HIPAA and OSHA regulations (i.e., compliance checks)
- Maintains a professional attire by wearing neat and clean scrubs as provided by the practice and adhering to OSHA regulations (no open toed shoes, etc.)
- Maintains and utilizes aseptic technique.
- Maintains a neat and clean work environment.
- Demonstrates safety patient handling.
- Follows universal precautions.
- Operates and handles equipment within the manufacturer’s specifications and guidelines.
- Identifies and immediately communicates potential safety concerns to Management.
