Data Entry Specialist – Posting #23-016
MAJOR DUTIES: This position is responsible for data entry. The work involves data entry of information and updating to maintain database(s) through custom software. Responsible for accuracy, efficiency and retrieval of processed data. Proof material entered as required and generate data reports as required. In fulfilling these duties, the incumbent performs the following duties independently:
Performs data entry using word processing, spreadsheet or database commands and formats material as required.
Creates data directories/subdirectories for file and report generation retrieval purposes. Maintains paper and/or disk file of entered data.
Reviews discrepancies in data received requests clarification or advises supervisor of issues related to data and performs data verification routines in accordance with company procedures.
Interacts with departmental and other staff on matters affecting data and publications flow and makes recommendations for improvement or enhancement to job processes to ensure standards in data entry, collection and retrieval.
Assist and train new data entry operators.
Communicate with technical staff to resolve computer and software problems.
Complete reports.
Back up files.
Clerical duties include filing documents.
Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED BY THE POSITION:
High School diploma or equivalent.
Preferred one year experience high volume data entry.
Thorough knowledge of the agency’s word processing and database systems.
Ability to produce accurate information and reports.
Ability to communicate clearly.
Great attendance.
Ability to work well with others.
Salary: $18.50-$20.00/hr DOE
