Job Description

Overview:
The IT Help Desk Specialist is an entry-level/associate position responsible for troubleshooting and resolving internal IT issues. The IT Help Desk Specialist documents computer and system related incidents and troubleshoots solutions as appropriate, escalating or assigning follow-up work to other members of IT as needed.
Responsibilities of the IT Help Desk Specialist:
- On-site support and troubleshooting of hardware and software
- Provide first-tier support by directly responding to employee requests and inquiries
- Identifies IT productivity issues and provides troubleshooting, leveraging knowledge management practices, with the goal of remediating incidents
- Escalates to the appropriate technical resources for more complex incidents
- Participates as an integral part of the team, exhibiting ownership, follow-through, initiative, awareness, and effective communication with peers, upper-tiers, and management
Qualifications of the IT Help Desk Specialist:
- A results-oriented self-starter
- Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude
- Strong organizational, project management, and analytical skills
- Associate's degree in an Information Technology discipline or related field of study (e.g., MIS, IS, IT, CNS, Computer Engineering, Windows Networking Administration)
- In lieu of a degree, a minimum of two years of related work experience, which could include experience in a field providing customer service, assisting end users with hardware and software related problems
- Able to work in a collaborative environment and with other team members from upper management to plant employees
Job type: Full-time, onsite
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8-hour workday. Weekends and nights as needed.
Salary: $50K+. Based on experience.
