Job Description

We are currently seeking a full-time, Payment Poster to join our team! Position Summary
The Payment Posting Specialist is responsible for maintaining the accuracy and timely entry of incoming payments for insurance payer ACH, as well as checks from both insurance companies and patients.
Primary Functions & Accountabilities
Specific Responsibilities:
- Applies knowledge of specific payer payment rules, managed care contracts, reimbursement schedules to post payments into Practice Management Software.
- Responsible for processing credit card payments for patients and insurance companies.
- Responsible for processing and posting of insurance payments through various methods.
- Responsible for processing transfers and refunds to patients and insurance companies.
- Responsible for re-distributing allocated deposit amounts from patients towards upcoming services.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Documenting all actions and encounters in practice management software.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- The ability to reconcile all batches posted and identify any discrepancies as needed.
- Must be able to multi-task with a strong sense of responsibility and initiative
- Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Must be an independent worker with the flexibility of working well with peers.
- Must be comfortable assessing situations and resolving or escalating as required
- Able to establish/maintain effective working relationships with patients, providers and team members
