If you share the same values, we want you to be a part of our team. We will provide all necessary training to be a PAT Parent Educator for our He Lei Piko Home Visiting Program.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES as a trained Educator
- Weekly PAT home visits with families that focus on parent child interaction, development centered parenting, and family well being.
- Implement the PAT curriculum and provide additional information, support, and the encouragement caregivers need to help their children develop optimally during the crucial early years of life.
- Conduct screens and assessments for caregivers and children to individualize services.
- Assist with providing access to resources in the community to help build advocacy skills in families.
- Maintain an active caseload and complete all corresponding documentation as required by the Home Visiting Program.
- Encourage caregivers to nurture a healthy relationship with their child while building secure attachment.
- Participate in trainings and professional development opportunities as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Skills/Knowledge
- Demonstrate sensitivity and compassion to the needs of parents and children.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Proficient knowledge of computer skills, and data entry/tracking.
- Ability to produce written documentation in a clear and concise manner.
- Maintain a clean driving abstract with a driver’s license and have access to a working vehicle.
- Strong skills in building and maintaining relationships.
- Ability to be organized
- Effective time management ability
Education/Training
- Successful completion of Parents as Teachers (PAT) Training.
- GED or High School Diploma required; CDA, AA, or BA degree in early childhood or related field preferred.
- Minimum two (2) years in early education or health environments that demonstrates interaction with families and children together, and/or one (1) year home visiting experience preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $21.00 per hour
