Job Description
Seeking an energetic and dependable Medical Assistant. Must be able to multi-task and have great communication skills. Responsible for providing patient education, coordination, and scheduling for plastic surgery procedures. Assists providers and staff in coordinating patient care. Functions as primary liaison between patients, staff and physician.
Job Responsibilities/Tasks:
1. Assesses patient's general condition and takes vital signs and weight.
2. Maintains exam rooms for necessary supplies and materials. Ensures cleanliness. Prepares list of medical supplies needed. Prepares equipment and aids physician during treatment, examination and testing of patients.
3. Educates patient/family about diagnostic procedures, and maintenance of health and wellness.
4. Schedules patient appointments and procedures according to established protocol.
5. Greets patients and prepares them for physician examination. Screens patients for appropriate information.
6. Maintains/reviews patient records, charts and other pertinent information.
7. Manages patient refill request.
8. Handles patient medication prior authorizations.
9. Responds to/refers incoming patient treatment-related phone calls. Instructs patient and family regarding pre-operative and post-operative care.
10. Maintains patient confidentiality.
11. Perform other related duties as directed or required.

- EMR systems: 1 year (Preferred)
- Vital signs: 1 year (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- BLS Certification (Preferred)
- Certified Medical Assistant (Preferred)
