Job Description
Job Purpose:
1. Manage projects and launch activities from inception to the closure of the program.
2. Support local PM’s in launching new programs locally, and coordinating activities with R&D and Operations. New project launches are led by the Program Manager through launch. PM owns the program from award till SOP +100 days.
3. Supports customer and supplier build events
4. Support in the development initiatives that make a stepped improvement in APQP, PM core processes, and guidelines to support the local team (MDT) and rollout locally.
Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned as needed):
v Project Scope :
o Create project Charter and defining the scope of the project based on OEM SOR.
o Scope management and maintenance to mitigate any scope creep during the project execution.
v Project Timing :
o Program timing creation, monitoring, and control. Solidify timing from validation and implementation standpoint, DV and PV timing is owned by program technical project leader (TPL).
o Initiate & Manage iPCS Project, which includes the Work Breakdown (WBS) / Master Timing.
v Quality :
o Capture lessons learned & corrective action, throughout the project life cycle.
v Risk Management :
o Risk assessment & develop contingency scenarios to mitigate timing slip, or scope creep.
o Escalate and focus management attention when there is no timely resolution.
v Change Management :
o Manage changes during development for both internal and external driven changes.
v Communication :
o Communication and building solid relationships with the customer is required.
o Document and manage an MDT Open Issues List (OIL) on a weekly basis. Escalate as appropriate.
o Communicating project status report (PSR) on a monthly basis with upper management and HQ.
o Holding project kick-off meeting, and conducting all Gate Reviews (1→6).
Qualifications:
v Bachelor degree is required. PMP certification highly desirable.
v Minimum of 5+ years of automotive product engineering experience working in product development with customer interaction and preferred focus on steering components.
v Must possess good knowledge on several engineering processes and tools.
v Computer skills required to ensure proper updates of various program management tools.
v Must possess strong organizational skills and be able to get the work done with team members that do not directly report to this role.
v Flexible working hours if/as required to support global team and customer based. Up to 25% travel.
Technical Competencies:
v Strong Planning & scheduling skill utilizing Microsoft software’s like (Project 2013, and Excel)
v Time management by recognizing the importance of managing time and prioritizing daily activities.
v Risk management by proactively staying engaged with core team and constantly identifying project threats and opportunities are identified and action is taken to mitigate the risks and prevent the project from missing key milestones.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $64,240.00 - $83,000.00 per year
