Gynecologic Oncology Associates is a comprehensive, full-service practice committed to providing quality health care for women of all ages. Our team are highly trained in low risk, high risk, and advanced gynecological treatments and surgeries.

Medical Assistant Role
We are looking for a full-time Medical Assistant to join our Torrance team, providing the highest quality gynecology and oncology services to patients throughout the South Bay and surrounding counties. The Medical Assistant effectively communicates, manages, and organizes all aspects of the patient encounter to ensure the optimal patient care experience. The Medical Assistant is the patient’s primary advocate and contact with GOA, welcoming each patient to the organization, encouraging confidence in the care received. The Medical Assistant supports patient engagement and provides general health education so patients are optimally prepared to discuss their healthcare objectives and agree on a care plan with their providers. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Taking medical histories
- Explaining treatment procedures to patients
- Preparing patients for examinations
- Assisting the physician during examinations
- Collecting and preparing laboratory specimens
- Performing basic laboratory tests
- Instructing patients about medication and special diets
- Using computer applications
- Answering telephones
- Welcoming patients
- Updating and filing patient medical records
- Scheduling appointments
- Arranging for hospital admissions and laboratory services
- Other duties assigned by the site supervisor or physicians
Educational Requirements:
- High School Diploma required
- Medical Assistant Certificate from an accredited Medical Assistant program required
Position Requirements:
- Must be willing to travel between El Segundo, Long Beach and Torrance offices throughout the week (Mileage will be reimbursed per CA guidelines).
- The main office for this position is the Torrance location and employee will be required to return to the Torrance location each day after finishing clinic at other locations.
- Must have excellent customer service skills and be committed to providing the highest level of customer service.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Possess a warm and caring manner and positive attitude.
- Protect the confidentiality and security of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.

Compensation:
· $19.00 per hour with a 90-day review and opportunity for increase
