Medical Assistant Job Description
Classification: Full Time
Reports to: Clinical Administrator/ Management
Primary Locations: (East Brunswick/Bridgewater).
You will be required to travel between East Brunswick Office & Bridgewater 1-2 times per week.

Summary/Objective:
The Medical Assistant facilitates the efficient operation of the practice by performing various clerical and administrative tasks. They will assist in the management of patient care and medical documentation. They will work with the medical providers and follow up on assigned tasks and treatment. Included in this administrative role will be other clinical-related functions and duties. Many of the administrative tasks require authorization and follow-up.
Responsibilities:
- Act as liaison between the patient and surgeon
- Prescription Management
- Enter information into medical databases (EMR)
- Review, correct, sort, and organize medical records as needed
- Basic computer skills, including knowledge of email/outlook
- Time management, organizational skills, attention to detail
- Answer and transfer phone calls, screening when necessary.
- Act as liaison between surgeons and insurance carriers,, patients, visitors, and guests.
- Retrieves information as requested from records, emails, minutes, and other related documents; prepares written summaries of data when needed.
- Respond to and resolve administrative inquiries and questions
- This position requires organizational skills, problem-solving, ability to prioritize and escalate issues as needed.
Schedule(May vary by location) :
- Monday thru Thursday 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM, Fridays 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM
Qualifications:
- Experience as a Medical Assistant, LPN, EMT. Preferred
- Bi-Lingual English & Spanish, Preferred
- A high school diploma, Higher education preferred.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Basic understanding of administrative and clerical procedures and systems.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Willingness to travel:
