JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Works closely with Director of Marketing and communicates regularly with Executive Leadership, as well as serving as a liaison with the company’s Agency of Record (AOR).
Oversees day-to-day marketing operations and the marketing all Team Members, to include Players Club.
Plans and coordinates actions to be taken on shift(s) within the department and any other related areas.
Assists Director of Marketing with planning, budgeting, and development of new projects, promotions, and events.
Puts focus on and actively participates in community outreach and engagement; attends events, build and nurtures lasting relationships, identifies and presents opportunities to expand presence and strengthen partnerships.
Observe and ensure on-property signage and communication are relevant and accurate and uphold the company’s brand standards.
Cultivates publicity directly with and via the company’s AOR to include press releases, newsletters, featured articles, photography, video graphics, and audio visual.
Develops clear and consistent marketing communication (internal and external) plans to support event/promotional objectives.
Oversee and/or initiate requests for print and electronic ad campaigns.
Ensure all departmental operational manuals and job descriptions are maintained and updated on a consistent basis.
Ensures schedules adequately reflect the demands/needs of the business.
Responsible for promotional and special event logistics to include the training of Team Members who work these promotions and special events.
Conducts Team Member appraisals in conjunction with Director of Marketing.
Maintains disciplinary and attendance logs to accurately keep record of exceptions and/or poor performance. Develops performance improvement plans when needed.
Conducts interviews with applicants for positions within the department and gives feedback to appropriate parties.
Enforces and oversees disciplinary and grievance procedures are adhered to in accordance with company policy.
Ensures work areas are kept clean and safe and that all necessary supplies are available to Team Members.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or Public Relations preferred.
3 years of managerial experience
Possess strong Microsoft Office Skills (Word and PowerPoint) and be proficient in Excel.
Must be 21 years of age or older. Must pass all required pre-screening and background checks.
Internal candidates must meet the eligibility requirements as provided in the Transfer and Promotion policy.
Ability to work a variety of shifts, this includes day, swing, late-night, weekend, and holiday shifts as scheduled.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Kentucky gaming/racing license.
