Job Description
Position Overview
The Southern Nevada Health District (SNHD) announces an examination process to create an eligibility list to fill one (1) vacancy for the classification of Medical Assistant in the Primary and Preventive Care Division. The eligibility list may be utilized to fill future vacancies for this classification for up to four (4) months.
The current vacancy is in the Community Health Center, however the list may be used to fill future vacancies through out the District.
This recruitment will close on or before the date listed above, once a sufficient number of qualified applications have been identified.
To perform a variety of duties involved in providing patient care and clinic services and to perform a variety of tasks relative to assigned areas of responsibility.
Minimum Qualifications
Education and Training:
Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade through diploma or GED
Successful completion of Medical Assistant training in an accredited program
Certification by the American Association of Medical Assistants preferred but not required
Experience:
Prior experience in a medical office setting or medical clinic setting is preferred but not required experience required
FQHC or Primary Care or Obstetrics & Gynecology experience preferred
Bilingual in Spanish preferred
License or Certificate:
Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate valid Nevada Driver’s license within 90 days
Preferred Qualifications:
FQHC or Primary Care or Obstetrics & Gynecology experience preferred
Bilingual in Spanish preferred
