MA/LPN
Title: Medical Assistant/ LPN
Facility: Fidelity Health Care
Job Reports to: Manager, Urgent Care / Occupational Health
General Summary/Responsibilities:
Medical Assistant/LPN is accountable for drawing patient’s blood, urine drug screens, taking EKGs, preparing charts for patient visits, including but not limited to, locating patient charts, updating and/ or entering patients in computer registration system, having the appropriate SOAP sheet prepared for the clinical staff, copying insurance card and verifying insurance coverage. Medical Assistant/LPN is accountable for notifying the clinical staff when a patient has arrived.

Knowledge/Skills
Ability to read, write and perform basic mathematical calculations.
Ability to perform phlebotomy on patients- required
Ability to perform AMC registration – required
Ability to perform intake on ambulatory patients – required
Good organizational skills and ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
Ability to work under sometimes stressful conditions which may occur in a heavy workload environment.
Medical terminology preferred.
Keyboard familiarity required
Literate in personal computers required
Ability to interact positively with the public.
Successful completion of responsibilities/ skills designed by the generic and unit specific skill lists wit 3 months of hire.
Physical strength for such activities as moving equipment, lifting/transporting patients to a maximum of 300lbs.
Good organizational skills and ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
Effective interpersonal and communication skills for interaction with and/or teaching patients. Physicians and other staff and visitors.
Good problem solving skills, initiative and judgement to make appropriate decision in potentially life threatening patient situations.
