Company information:
We are a full-service Internal Medicine practice that specializes in Adult Medicine. Our internists are Doctors of Internal Medicine and offer adult primary care services to patients in the metro-Atlanta area. Our physicians are supported by physician assistants and nurse practitioners. The physicians of Piedmont Internal Medicine focus on the health and care of each patient as an individual with individual needs.
Description of role:
We are searching for a reliable Certified Medical Assistant to perform various office and clinical duties to keep our healthcare practice running efficiently. Our Medical Assistant will work directly with healthcare practice staff to collect test samples, maintain patient records, explain common medical procedures to patients and assist in basic examinations.
Tasks:
- Update and maintain all digital client records and assist in transitioning hard copy records to digital format
- Record patient information such as vital signs, weight and changes in medical history prior to each appointment
- Clean and prepare examination rooms prior to patient appointments
- Rooming patients by obtaining height, weight, BMI and vital signs. Must be proficient in performing EKG's and giving injections. Must be familiar with Adult vaccines. Knowledge of GRITS and PDMP websites a plus. Knowledge of Medical terminology and Medications is expected.
- Assist the nurse and office manager in maintaining the medical inventory and placing orders for new materials as needed
Skills and Requirements:
- Current Certification as a Medical Assistant
- 1 year of Epic experience desired
- 2+ years of experience working for a healthcare practice
- High level of professionalism
- Strong customer service skills
- Inventory management experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent computer skills
- Bilingual is a plus
Work Schedule: Full time, 8 hour shift. The practice office hours are from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. New employees will serve an initial orientation period of ninety (90) calendar days during which the new employee and the Practice may evaluate employment suitability in terms of knowledge, skill, ability and other relevant considerations. Regular working hours may vary.
