Job Description
RECEPTIONIST I
Part-Time - 20 hours a week
$10.00 an hour
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
A. Performs Receptionist Duties.
1. Directs incoming calls to appropriate staff members or to voice mail.
2. Writes messages as needed.
3. Greets agency guests and directs them to appropriate staff members.
4. Monitors front entrance to operate magnetic door lock.
5. Monitors security camera.
6. Incorporates sign-out sheet information when answering and responding to calls.
7. Maintains a professional demeanor and appearance at all times.
B. Assist Director in carrying out Program’s Goals and Objectives
1. Plans, organizes, and prioritizes time and workload in order to accomplish tasks
and meets deadlines.
2. Assists in administering health/safety procedures.
3. Participates in conferences, in-service training, and committees as assigned.
4. Assists in preparation for CARF and other audits as needed.
5. Maintains open lines of communication with fellow staff and supervisors about
needs, problems, and accomplishments, etc. of the program/department.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
1. Knowledge of service delivery for adults with psychiatric disabilities and client
rights.
2. Skill in effective interpersonal relationships, dealing with people in a manner which
shows sensitivity, tact, and professionalism; communicating information and ideas
clearly; and use of effective telephone techniques.
3. Ability to work with limited guidance; prioritize tasks; interact cooperatively;
maintain effective work relationships, understand rules, regulations, policies
and/or procedures.
4. Present a positive, optimistic, and enthusiastic outlook in performing job duties
and to fulfilling the mission of the agency; serve as a positive role model for
residents and staff.
Qualifications:
1. Experience in answering phones.
2. Demonstrated ability to interact with others in a professional manner.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift 25 – 50lbs, retrieving and placing materials on high shelves and on floor-level shelves; standing, walking; carrying; grasping; hearing; seeing; sitting, kneeling; climbing; balancing; stooping; crouching and reaching.

Program Overview
Works under direct supervision of Program Director or Administrative Assistant II to provide receptionist services to Community Friendship, Inc.
